Building Belonging
Beyond Borders

A space for people building a life between cultures to connect and feel at home. Because belonging is something we all deserve, wherever we are.

OUR MISSION

Madrid Offline Community creates intentional spaces where people navigating life between cultures can slow down, connect, and rediscover a sense of belonging. Rooted in the belief that community, reflection, and shared stories are essential to human and social wellbeing, the initiative brings people together through dialogue circles, storytelling, and creative practices such as writing and journaling. Inspired by principles of care, reciprocity, and degrowth, the project seeks to cultivate meaningful connections beyond the pressures of productivity and digital life. By creating spaces where lived experiences are valued and diverse voices are met with curiosity and respect, Madrid Offline Community aims to strengthen intercultural understanding, nurture emotional resilience, and contribute to more compassionate and connected urban communities.

About Our Founder

Anjali founded Madrid Offline Community after years of questioning inequality, belonging, and the systems that shape how we live and connect. Her journey across three continents in education, diplomacy, and intercultural work, alongside her work as a poet and writer for social change, has been guided by a search for more human ways of living and relating to one another.

FAQ’s

Madrid Offline is for anyone navigating life between cultures: migrants, expats, international students, and globally mobile people. It’s a space where you can share your story, feel heard, and connect with others who understand what it’s like to be far from home.

Our gatherings are designed to nurture connection, reflection, and community. Through conversation circles, storytelling, journaling, and small creative workshops, participants explore their journeys, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships.

Most of our sessions are in English, but we welcome people from all linguistic backgrounds. Our facilitators ensure that everyone can participate, feel understood, and contribute to the conversation.

Absolutely. Sharing is always optional. Our facilitators create a supportive, respectful environment where you can listen, reflect, and engage at your own pace.

While we started in Madrid, our mission is to build connections and belonging for people living between cultures. Many of our activities can also be joined online, making our community accessible no matter where you are.

Absolutely. Madrid Offline is a community by people, for people, a space we build together. If you have a skill, experience, or perspective to share, we need you. Volunteers, collaborators, and donors all help us expand our reach and create spaces where people far from home can feel seen, heard, and connected.
